I can set a model to private but then only I can view it. I want to be able to send a link to people and have only them see it. Made some dogtags for my Airsoft team. Don’t want to have other people seeing them.
I dont really think this is a private hosting site for files. You can just send them the files anywhere?
Only suggestion I can give is download the file and then E-mail to friends.
Another instance where this would be a great idea is that I have a model uploaded that has a hinge in it. People are downloading it and really liking it but a very small number of people are having the hinge fuse together. I’m talking less than .2% of people. I have a file with a looser tolerance that I’d like to send these people but I do not want to upload that as a new print profile. It would confuse people and some would download without knowing. Being able to send these people that link to the page would be excellent!
But actually, the worries are unnecessary. At least the X1 is so robust that it really delivers super accurate results. And if something doesn’t fit, there is hole compensation and contour compensation in the Bambu Studio. At least with the X1 (because I don’t have another Bambu printer), if something doesn’t match with a low tolerance, you can say that the filament flow is to blame, i.e. over-extrusion. Or too large nozzles are being used. With increasing nozzle size it becomes a bit more difficult to get super prints.
So you suggest recommending these people do some other slicer adjustments/flow adjustments instead of sending a new file? Does hole compensation work on horizontal holes?
Both works in X and Y direction.
Email the files. Or use a cloud service to store the file and share with a private link. Many of the cloud services provide a limited amount of storage for free, and you may already have some space available.
If you have Windows, OneDrive includes 5Gb. A Google account includes 15Gb for free. DropBox includes 2 Gb. Apple iCloud includes 5Gb for free.
I use these free services frequently to share pictures and videos with family. The links can be specific to one file or one folder so that other items in the storage space are not accessible. Delete the files after everyone has a chance to download them and reuse the space.
