USB Drive problem

I have two H2D 3D printers. On both of them, my USB drives (SanDisk 64GB ULTRA Fit) don’t last even 6 months and keep breaking/failing. What could be the reason for this? What do you use?

Are you doing a lot of time lapses of your prints?

I suggest you switch to Samsung FIT USB drive. They are rated up to 60c, the SanDisk is only rated up to 35c operating temp. If you print ABS, ASA, PA etc, the printers high temp can be the cause of the drives failures.

I purchased my Samsung when the H2D came out, and now using it on my H2C and its still working perfectly.

I don`t use record timelapses. Use it for just print files.

I am using ABS a lot, so maybe is there a heat problem?

It’s worthwhile to check how hot it gets.

Additionally take into account that when video recording is enabled, you have basically a constant stream of data being pushed towards the USB drive that might run the chips across their given duty cycle. Definitely the higher temperature might work on top of that.
