User comparison x1-c vs x1-e

Is there anyone who owns both an X1-C and an X1-E? I’m curious if the difference in cost is actually worth it? I own an X1-C and I’m pretty happy with it, but the extra feature set of the X1-E is enticing.

I cant compare the two but I would wait untill the second gen enclosed bambu printers, which are due this year, as they might have some of the features of the X1e rolled into them.

Ah. Must have missed that. I don’t recall the CEO mentioning any 2nd gen X1s for 2024 in that interview.

Yes he did not mention X2, he did mention a bigger printer that will have more improvements besides size coming soon.

I have an X1C at home and have access to an X1E at work. Personally, I dont feel that the X1E is worth the extra $1000. The extra cost is more for the printer being able to connect to enterprise networks, like those used at businesses. The differences between the 2 are: ethernet port (which youll be able to add via a dongle with X1plus firmware), enterprise networking (which you probably don’t have at home), an extra light bar (doesnt really make much difference to the lighting), beefed up carbon filter (still doesnt filter and recirculate air inside the printer), and a chamber heater (which is nice, but you don’t really need it for PLA, PETG, TPU, PA, or ABS/ASA)

It’d be interesting to see why the X1-E can do 320c on the nozzle instead of 300c, I don’t know if that’s just letting it run there for the sake of it or whether it has a different thermistor that’s accurate over 300c, but it’d be a nice retrofit to the other machines - another 20c would make a fair difference on some of the Nylons and things you can print these days.
