I run Orca slicer, my P1s is in lan mode, has been since day 1, afaik. This morning, when I went to use Orca, it insisted on logging onto the bambu site, and downloaded, I guess a new version of the slicer, and now I can’t find the specific filament settings I’ve created in the past year. Anyone know where the filament user settings are located for Orca?
Try going to the Home page in Orca and logging out if you are logged in.
The usual location for profiles, using the Bambu cloud to sync, is
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\OrcaSlicer\user\(some number)
If you have never logged in to the Bambu cloud, I think your user profiles are stored in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\OrcaSlicer\user\default
Easiest way to reach either hidden folder is to open OrcaSlicer, go to the Help menu and select “Show Configuration Folder”.
thanks. I will look into it. I do not know why it decided to go to bbl, but I’ve compared the recent file structure/paths, with that which I backed up last night, and it looks different. It now seems to be a folder named arena/something. I’ve found the myfilters folder in the backup, where my stuff lies.I appoloogise, since I’ve probably got the names wrong). I’ll have to log into my backup server (an old dell pc with a fewTB of usb drives). At first sight it looks like an orca thing, but I hope not.
The default is empty, apart from the 3 empty folders with today’s date. My backups from c, to the ‘server’ fail, not everything get’s copied. One of the files not copied is the orca appdata.
I think I will have to deal with it as it is, but my next 3d printer, if ever I get one, will be something completely open source. I bought the p1s because at the time, it was fast, and at a good price. It has worked reliably, but it is no use if they are going to mess with my settings. There are better machines for me now, from more established makers, at a better price. Luckily, I only print sort of test and functional prints, so no need to spend ages trying to tune in a multitude of filaments.
