The only position I can print from is 1, I can see the 5 filament selections but clicking on one does not change the selection from 1.
Where do I set the filament used , Bambu Labs A1 Mini + AMS-Lite with four Bambu Labs filaments loaded. Why does Bambu Studio show the external filament, there is only 4 PTFE tubes for the AMS-Lite?
You have to sync the filament from the A1 Mini and the Slicer. There is a button you click on and it will pop up a message about clicking to the DEVICE Tab and select the printer. The button is in the slicer to the right of the filament selections. Also make sure you have them set up in the filament menu on the printer.
From AI:
To sync AMS colors in Bambu Slicer (also known as Bambu Studio), open the “Device” settings, select your printer, and then click the “Sync” icon followed by “Resync” to update the slicer with the current filament colors loaded in your AMS; if using official Bambu Lab filaments, the colors should automatically be detected via RFID, otherwise, manually configure the filament details for each AMS slot.
I got that part but what I’m missing is how to set which color/spool is used for the model/part/object I’m trying to print?
I have the part selected in the Prepare window but there is nothing to flick to select which color/spool to use and it always prints from Spool 1!
I can see all the spools and the colors each is but I can not assign a spool/color to the part.
Once you send it to the printer there is an AMS button that you click and choose the spool number and color before you hit send. See the 2 buttons that say PLA in the image. There will be up to 4 of those showing. Click on them to choose the color order. At least the way I do it through LAN ONLY mode with my A! and A1 Mini printers. Maybe show us the file so we can better see what you are needing. Is it a Hueforge print?
While trying to figure out how to design a multi-color part I found I had to break down the model into parts, in Preview tab Process select Objects from there you can select each part and set it’s color/spool, one thing that was killing me was downloading to Bambu Studio from Makerworld.com, the 3mf would make my printer be a X1 with two AMS units even after selecting A1 Mini. After cleaning up and starting over I have a new rule, STL download only and NEVER open with Bambu Studio until they fix that issue…
Well now I understand what you were trying to do. That sounded like a lot of colors if the designer used a 3MF file that used 2 AMS units. Or he made a mistake. Sometimes in the list of downloads they offer files for other printers too but not always. When I download a 3MF file I run into that all the time and just change the printer to the one I want or have to use. Then I allow the settings to transfer over. And if it is a 2 color part and I only want to print it in one color it’s no big deal. But I usually download the STL file too. Glad you got it sorted.
