Using PLA for Support with EXTERNAL Spool

I bought the new Bambu PLA for Support and I’m trying to use it with TPU that isn’t AMS compatible. Thus, I need to use the external spool to print the support and then change the spool to print the TPU.

Is this possible? Has anyone found a way to do this?

Bambu support said "Only if the support interface ends at the exact height an overhang begins, and you can insert a pause and “color” change. Otherwise no, it cant be used. "

Thank you !

Thanks for the reply! Wow that’s a lot of work! I hope Bambu will find a way to make this easier!

Well, they did. It is not very cost effective though as it involves purchasing an H2D

On my.Qidi Plus 4 (unforrunately no AMS released yet), the important change is actually only a single line in the “filament change” gcode filament settings: Pause (forcing the nozzle to the purge chute). Purge and wipe are triggered by the filament start code. Haven’t tryed translating that to my X1 though. Would ürobably be as involved as the existing changes though though. Unlike the X1, the Plus 4 uses open Klipper…
