Hi guys I have an X2D that’s done about 500hrs and I’m trying to print a dual colour model that I’ve done many times before with no issues, in fact it always comes out perfectly. But now I’m getting some really bad stringing from the right auxiliary nozzle, and it also leaves a mess on the model itself. As a test I even swapped the filament over to see if it was the filament that was an issue but it made no difference. Not sure if this is anything to do with it but I usually use Bambu PLA Metal in the RH nozzle?
So quick points: -
Calibrated, filament dried to be safe, printed same model with no changes or issues?
So you still got stringing after swapping the filament which eliminates the nozzle choice as culprit but maybe focuses more on the filament itself? Have you tried a test with a different spool of filament?
Besides the stringing, that print is showing other issues. The filament looks like it’s cutting across the inside of that circular part so and there’s other weirdness in there too.
How are you drying? And how do you know your filament is dry?
Your post was especially interesting because I just started a print with Bambu PLA Metal (first PLA Metal print I’ve tried) but it’s printing fine. I know mine is dry though but it’s not dual color. (X1C)
My apologies I may have been unclear. I had the Metal Pla in the RH nozzle and was getting the stringing from the Metal PLA after drying the filament which I always do with metal and the black PLA was in the AMS so I swopped them over so the black was in the RH nozzle and got exactly the same problem so it must be the RH that’s the issue. I’m beginning to wander if there’s a buildup of metal particles in the bowden extruder gears?
Ah. Well, hope you get it sorted but there are some issues with that print that can be caused by water.
Added - man that PLA metal is gorgeous stuff when you see it in person! Doesn’t look that hot as filament (doesn’t look bad but the potential is hidden) but when printed it’s beautiful.
