Very loud when idle (motherboard fan?) See video

Help me out here. I am a proud X1C owner for 2 days now and about 20 print hours on the clock.

When I got it on Wednesday, I had the (quite loud) ventilation running in my shed so I never really heard how the printer sounds.

Until today when I started it up in complete silence. To my complete shock it sounds like a choking chainsaw just on idle.
Can someone please tell me if this is normal?

I assume it isn’t and that it’s a really bad fan, probably motherboard fan since none of the others are running

Can it harm the motherboard if it’s that faulty? What if it completely seizes mid print?

That’s definitely abnormal and you should put in a support ticket. Hopefully it’s just a bad fan bearing or something simple

My X1C has a weird fan noise as well. It just happened this morning… I checked the menus to see if any fans were doing it and they were not.

Support ticket made.
During the make of the support ticket, my printer had to be online. It automatically sends logs to Bambu when making the tickets.

Really nice feature, not very ideal though with a broken motherboard fan.
It kept getting worse and worse and right now it’s deafening :frowning:

You can clearly hear it stopping instantly when I turn of the power. So it’s definitely a fan grinding against something or the bearing is shot

All right I’m going for it !
I’m not waiting forever for them to respond to the ticket
(based on reading other people’s waiting times + Lunar New Year in China coming right up)

Wait what? They void your warranty if you take off the back panel? All the while selling all of the replacement parts?

Ignore that void sticker - at least in the US.

Mine just started doing the same thing. I cant leave it on, as soon as it’s finished printing i have to turn it off.

Is there a video on how to replace the fan?

Here you can find some snippets of information. Should be enough to go at it yourself if you’re handy
