Video for my prints aren't recording

Any thoughts on why? I did install a USB drive in the port on the top. I formatted it on the printer. The video on the printer is set to 1080p and the “Auto Record Monitoring” is turned on in Bambu Studio.

Any ideas why? I’m wondering if it’s a problem with my USB drive…

Some days ago it stopped for me too.
All was working fine till I updated and downgraded the firmware (Not sure if this is what caused this).

I’ve tried several times now to get it to work again, but till now no luck.

Thanks for the reply! I guess I need to leave a support ticket for Bambu.

Keep me posted. I might have the same problem.

What are your USB specifications? That might be the issue.

USB2.0 protocol or above
( Actual minimum write speed needs to be greater than 10M/s )

Specifications and Usage Recommendations of H2D USB Flash Drives

Your USB drive may contain two partitions, as some manufacturers include an extra one for recovery software. If that’s the case, you can remove it.

This is the one I’ve been using.
SAMSUNG FIT Plus 3.1 USB Flash Drive, 128GB, 400MB/s

Might be a dumb question but, are you removing the usb from the printer and bringing it to your computer to access the videos?

No, I’m trying to access them through Bambu Studio like I do on my son’s X1C.

My USB Specs are:

Memory Storage Capacity 64 GB
Hardware Interface USB Type-C and USB Type-A connectors; USB 3.1 (Gen 1)
Additional Features Retractable Connector;Encrypted
Write Speed 150 MB/s
Read Speed 150 Megabytes Per Second
Connectivity Technology USB
Flash Memory Type USB
Compatible Phone Models Google Play

Can it just be it is full and cannot record more videos? 64 GB will only hold about 15h of 1080p videos. How do you access your videos?

Interesting that USB stick has both usb and usbc.

Bambu Studio. I formatted it so it was empty.

I’ve had some SanDisk drives with two partitions before. This USB stick might have an interface board, especially since it includes both USB-A and USB-C. Do you have a plain USB-A stick you can test it with?

It also includes an encryption option, so you might see two partitions on your PC.

Sadly I’m printing a pair of whaleberries so it will be 3 more days until I can mess with the printer…

Side note I wonder if the high flow extruder would affect TPU print speeds. I would think not…

Cool :+1: and let us know what you come up with!

You cannot access the videos that way. You have to take the usb stick to your computer to access the full video. You can watch the Timelapse in studio, but not the full video.

Yeah well that’s what I want. Not the full video. Basically just want it to work like my X1C. I shouldn’t have to take the stick to my computer. I don’t have to with the X1C.

For me it was all working fine till some days ago, so USB drive/stick was fine.
Same with timelaps recordings. It was all working fine till some days ago.
Same stick… Same setup…
Drive is formatted again with Bambi Studio.

According to BBL:
To enable and use the timelapse feature:

  1. Ensure an SD card with sufficient memory is inserted.
  2. Enable the prime tower in “Special Mode” - “Others” - “Timelapse.”
  3. Check the “Timelapse” option when sending the print job.
  4. The timelapse video will be saved on the SD card in the “timelapse” folder after printing.
  5. You can also download the video from Bambu Studio’s “Device” - “MicroSD Card” page.

Ahhhh, okay. Do you have Timelapse enabled when you send the print? The little check box

Timelapse and video are 2 different things.

Hi NOEL,

  • You can safely eject and remove the USB stick, then test it using a USB utility.

  • Do you have another USB stick you could try?

  • This would help determine where the issue lies.

Would love to do this, but I’ve just left for a one week trip to my parents’ in Scotland and don’t have physical access to the printer.

I’ll give it a go as soon as I’m back home again.
