Another issue is that giftcards are treated like cash, whereas a discount voucher isn’t so they might be trying to not have hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of giftcards just floating there as unspent giftcards would have to be listed as a pending source of income and can’t be marked as revenue until they have been spent
