Voxel PETG+

I have recently tried printing with Voxel PETG+ after only previously using PLA. The prints are coming out mostly fine but with a few small issues. I am seeing globing and stringing in certain areas and when the print is finished quite a bit of filament continues to ooze out of the nozzle.

I have tried adjusting retraction speed, retraction distance, nozzle temperature and flow rate but still can’t get consistently good results. On the voxel PLA website it suggests using the bambulab PETG HF preset and raising the nozzle temp to 265C. I wanted to use bambulab PETG but they were out of stock last time I ordered. Is anyone using Voxel PETG+, if so what settings seem to work well for you.

I am using a bambulab P1S
Hardened steel 0.4 mm nozzle

I have not used the Voxel PETG myself but there are a number of general PETG rules that I follow:

  1. The first rule of PETG is, we dry PETG.
  2. See rule 1.
  3. Failure to comply with rule 1. is punishable by stringing, oozing, sagging, globbing, warping, curling and “blobs of death”
  4. PETG bonds pretty well, except to PLA: Really scrub the build plate (water, dishwashing liquid, clean and stiff brush). Also usable to your advantage as an interface layer.
  5. PETG loves to stick to the nozzle: Avoid crossing infills and surfaces. I usually use monotonic lines and honeycomb. But that is just me.
  6. I always enable “wipe on retract” with PETG
  7. PETG rewards going slow (also on accel’s for fine detail)
  8. Remember rule #1.?

Hipe this helps,
