Does anyone do any legit 3D modeling in VR, such as with a Quest or other VR system? I’m sure you can use programs from within the VR space on a flat virtual screen like you would sitting at your desktop, but are there any options that let you use move around the space in VR with tools to create/edit models.
Quest 2 and 3 user here. I mean, heavy user since VR has arrived in the market in the times of Oculus DK1. Started using it for SimRacing only and found other “niche” use case for it when i started seeing it evolve.
If you have a Quest 2, at least, you can try and play with Gravity Sketch or the (in beta) new Chisel app. And yes, you can model 3D like it’s in your hand.
You can also use VR as a dedicated workspace, letting you have almost infinite space in front of you, instead of just 1 or 2 monitors. You don’t even need a cable and you can “project” your display to VR and work 100% there. Fusion360 is one of the use cases where having a big screen, or several, can enhance your workflow.
