I have heard lots of positivity from the A1 printers other than the bed issue. I really want to try out multicolor printing and something about the A1 series price and calibration make me want it over the somewhat dated looking P1s. What are your thoughts on waiting for the A1’s return, or just buy a mini. The mini would suit me expect for the build volume. Or am I making up stuff and k would be find the a AMS+ P1P/S for double the price?
The A1 mini is an absolute beast of a mini printer! Ever since I got mine, my Flsun SR has slowly been collecting dust, until I finally sold it to buy a P1S…
The A1 mini is so good at pumping out quick, hassle free prints, and is absurdly quiet that I can have it printing on my table next to me while in zoom meetings.
My two cents for you is to get the A1 Mini as a secondary printer, while still having a larger printer for bigger jobs.
But if you had to pick just 1 printer to have, i’d definitely wait for the bigger A1 to come back in stock, as the features that are on it almost dwarf the P1P
I was in the same boat, and decided to buy the A1 mini with AMS Lite. Figured I could use it until the A1 came out and then sell my A1 mini. I have run into a number of prints that I couldn’t do by default do to their size, but a number of them I’ve been able to adjust in Bambu Studio on my computer and split over additional plates or shrink the size. However, it’s still a pain, and really want that A1 to be fixed and available!
Both are absolute game changers, I own 7 printers, Enders, Elegoo, Flashforge, etc. I really like then all BUT when you buy think what will I be doing with it in the future. AMS light will work on both so purchasing that is a logical. The A1 with it’s larger print bed gives more options as to what you can do with it. Build volume is the bottom line. If you plan on building larger projects then I would opt for the A1. Others might tell you to spend more and go for the Carbon X1 or the P series. BUT the AMS lite does not work with them. And their cost is much higher.
Bang for the buck is the A1.
Good Luck

Thank you for sharing that. What I might just do is buy a Mini +AMS Lite then order the A1, and just use the Lites together. I’m not in need of running both at the same time.
I agree! One question - do you ever see drooping from the side without the lead screw support? I’ve had many of my past bed slingers printers give me this problem.
While having my A1 mini constantly printing for the past month i’ve had it, I’ve noticed no droop at all. I did try to give the lead screw pillar a little wiggle just to test the rigidity of the pillar, and that thing will not budge an inch. Built like a damn tank.
I personally don’t think Bambu Lab will release a new printer within the next couple of months. Having that mindset can go on forever, there will always be new printers, and sometimes you just have to buy a printer and know that.
Since I chose the #2 option instead of sending back my A1, I continue to use my A1 with the AMS Lite. It’s a wonderful machine with a big build-bed, fast and easy to use. The Mini doesn’t appeal to me at all and I’ll be all-in if Bambu comes out with something bigger and of course better. If you can’t wait, get the Mini and the AMS; if you can, then get the A1 when it is re-released. GREAT printer!
I actually just went through this decision and ended up buying the mini. When the full size A1 comes back in stock I’ll be ordering one of those as well, probably with the AMS lite.
Down the road I can see myself owning an X1C, but for now the mini is amazing.
