I have been wanting to buy a second X1C for a while, but the last batch to get issued had lots of sub contracted issues, that I don’t know if I should wait until the current (ETA April) batch is gone and get one from the next batch to come in.
Option 2 is wait for the next generation of printer to see if they have a dual head or other game changer in the FDM world.
I am not sure which “batch” mine was, but it was delivered in mid-Feb (end of Jan. order). Overall I have been pretty satisfied with it once I did a few tweaks/enhancements.
The biggest issue I had was with the AMS unit load/unload. After installing the feeder button cover (w/PTFE tubing) Printables most of the AMS issues have disappeared.
As a newbie to 3d printing, there are still problems that I run into here and there, but most of them are due to my own ignorance/inexperience.
If I was you, I would just wait for the next generation. Next generation will definitely have improvements and lessons learned implemented into the new design/device.
