what to do to recover this plate (maybe remove the cover and replace it with another one … )
or even if there has been any damage to the printer (it was generating very bad sounds at the end, so i quickly cancelled the printing, but have no idea yet if there has been some damages…)
Printing : SUNLU ABS (having worked fine on smaller prints until now …)
Note : expansion of print surfaces per instructions on the wiki, was working at first (until the warping).
you are talking about the sticker that is on the plate ?
try to print those big prints on the Textured PEI plate instead , the warping it does is kinda strong
some one even mentioned that it bended his plate because of this warping.
or you can use the engeneer side, do not use a sticker for it ( cool plate / hot plate ) as they will come loose
It can be quite important to pre-heat your chamber when printing large parts out of warpy materials (a lot of ABS being included in this list). To do this, you want to set the bed temp to max, and then run the aux fan with the bed just below the top of the machine. Start your print when the chamber gets up to around 55C.
That’s the first sticker I’ve seen come detached, but others have had the whole plate warp up with the part.
For ABS I’d also probably recommend the other side with gluestick rather than the cool plate sticker.
Yeah the four corners of the cover / sticker were detached / unglued. In the end maybe it’s better like that, otherwise, per what you are reporting, the whole plate could have been warpped and hence rendered useless.
I’ll consider your extra-tips if i try that print again, but to be honest and i’m bit reluctant to give another try on this for now…
