From BL’s warranty policy:
Bambu Lab is unable to provide repair for your product in the following circumstances:
- The product has wear and scratches which are not caused by manufacturing or workmanship and do not influence the product performance.
This reads like if I scratch the printer’s glass lid, the printer’s warranty is no longer valid for any future repairs? Can someone clarify this?
In the context of the warranty policy, I understood that they would not repair/replace a component because it is scratched and does not influence the work performance.
Anyway, I am not an English native, and also legal texts are always written in a non-conventional manner.
If it were like that, sooner or later, BL would find themselves in a fight (already lost) with consumer rights entities. At least in the EU. Apple also writes one year of warranty, yet the consumer is always entitled to two. And they have a significantly large law department.
Of course, if an issue is caused by a scratch resulting from improper use, we need to assume the repair.

When I read that, I see it as saying, “We aren’t going to warranty physical damage”. Yes, it says scratches with no additional reference, but I’m pretty sure it in context to damage that occurred due to neglect which could be the cause of the problem being reported. That is very common.
For example if a printer falls off a table and stops working, it will likely get a significant scratch and if they see that they will decline the warranty repair.
This makes so much more sense
Thanks
It’s only for glass panels with scratches, as it’s not a quality issue. This is just my personal opinion

If you read the entire “Repair Policy” section (instead of the small snippet you provided), you’ll see they are reiterating that they will not cover normal wear and tear under warranty.
FWIW, it seems whoever wrote this policy is not a native English speaker. Since it’s written in English, it would be beneficial to have it reviewed by a native English speaker.
