Newbie to multi color printing, i come from using a creality ender 3v2. I have been seeing a lot of complaints with the p2s (which I recently bought). I have found any issues, that i have had for the most part, have been settings that I made not the machines, I have had nothning but luck with mine. I am not a professional by no means, and just print for fun, I have actully been enjoying printing and have found myself printing more projects now that I have more flexibility
No, I was wrong for buying the K1 when the better choice was the X1C. My K1 was wrecked at ~500hrs after a firmware defect slammed the head into the bed, nearly causing a fire (and kept trying to print). Years of attempts to repair it, fighting with creality to send me parts every two weeks until warranty ran out. Now its so modded its a PIMA every time Orca Slicer gets an update. Nearly 1200$ spent on a printer that sometimes works. I’m still punching myself in the face every time I think there’s a solution to fix it.
When I could have bought the X1C and been done with it to start with… 4000hrs on my X1C. Not looking back.
Keep in mind that if you’re reading a subreddit on any particular product, the postings will tend to be the extremes - people who love it or people who hate it. I love my P1S and would have bought the P2S if it was available back in the day. I’m looking at the H2C now and asking the same questions as I see users coping with a firmware bug with the H2C (“but it’s still an amazing machine”). You’ve made a good choice IMO.
I don’t think so. I’m also a very happy P2S owner and very pleased with its learning curve.
I’d say you have to take a lot of the negative posts with a grain of rock salt. Mostly, just how much of the BS is really the machine, and how much is the loose nut running it?
My biggest problem is many of the files simply do not cross over from some machines smoothly to other machines. Just because there are 40-dozen printers listed does not mean the file was actually run on those 40-dozen.
I am the kind to blame myself before beaching about some inanimate machine. I still marvel at the speed and precision of these things. Why just tonight I was trying to print some spiders for Halloween for the grandkids. First try was an abort, it was making a blob on my nozzle. I kept fooling around and dropped down to my 0.2mm nozzle and Wa-La!
I happen to be very happy with my P2S. It had the amenities I wanted, at a price I was comfortable starting out at. Half the carp you read on the Internet is by dolts who can’t tie their shoes, so all they do is muddy the waters. Nope, happy camper here. And no delusions of grandure.
Enjoy your printer. That’s the important thing. I own a P2s and haven’t had any issues so far (800+h). Not that great handling multicolor than a h2d or h2c, but for the price it’s a printer i would buy again and again.
I would never buy P2S, it’s weirdest printer in my opinion, it’s only advantage over A series is that it has filtration and a little more compact size. I think A series AMS Lite is even faster in switching colors because of shorter switch time, the head movement speed is very similar, my a1 even prints faster than x2d or h2d in most of the cases for single color. At this point you could just add a little more and buy x2d which is vastly superior in any way (chamber heater, filter, second fan, better display and second extruder).
If you bought it and it gets job done, i don’t see reason that you should do something about it, it’s just my opinion and marketing thing, people think if it’s enclosed CoreXY, it would be better, but it’s not always the case. P2S is good printer, but should cost much more cheaper than it is right now.
