An account holder on Makerworld is selling my models and many other designers on MakerWorld.

@BambuLab this affects many designers. @MakerWorld.

I have not identified all the models this user has stolen and is profiting from. Those I have, I do not know all of the forum names, so, I will message them directly.

If you spot any others I have not added to this list, add them below. Make sure you are not duplicating the efforts of others.

Important

It is possible this user does have a commercial licence with some of these models, I have no way of knowing that.

I recommend everyone look at this Etsy store to see if their models are being sold without their permission.

Mine is being sold without a commercial licence and I know this as I only recently added that option and this user has been selling before then.

Well, time for that Copyright protection since they are marked as exclusive here on Makerworld. Time to see how that will work out or if said models have to be reported by us, the normal user, to be taken down.

He doesn’t have one for yours. That’s enough isn’t it? I’m sure if he jacked one he jacked quite a few. Pretty stupid to use the same user name as he has on MakerWorld.

At least he made it easy.

unfortunately that is recurrent, every now and again i do some reverse image searches and always find bad actors in etsy, however they do have a robust reporting system and it gets taken down fairly quickly, it’s worst in other types of sites that are user-based marketplaces for second-hand stuff, they still take down on some of them but it takes longer
i’ve even found on amazon, but that is also easy to report and take down

Thanks for this valuable Info! I have sent the Seller a message asking if he has a commercial license what he most likely doesnt have.

Looks like most items have been removed now by seller. I had reached out on Etsy when I saw Malc’s post, never did get reply, but will give this seller benefit of doubt and assume didn’t realize they were abusing licenses, as they look new to Etsy.
