I’m working on a multicolor print and encountered an issue. I’ve positioned the items upright and used the layer painting tool to apply colors (see picture 1), then laid them flat for printing (see picture 2). The top and bottom layers print as expected (see pictures 3 & 4), but the middle layers behave strangely. Specifically, the red and orange colors bleed into the white area (see picture 5), which causes the colors to show through the print.
Does anyone know what might be causing this issue? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I think that the “weird” shapes of the central layers are intended to provide strength. If the red-white and orange-white colors were the same shape all the way through they would probably be very weak along the boundaries.
Try increasing the number of top and bottom layers to prevent bleed-through.
As @lkraus mentioned, the geometric interlinking of colors is intended to provide strength between areas with different colors. On flat shapes with few top and bottom layers, this interlinking is of course not really desired.
An alternative to increasing layer counts, you can also use modifiers to locally change the filament.
