Weird dents and scars

Hello Guys, I have this weird problem with a particular model on my H2d. I’ve tried printing it with 0.2mm layer height and there always appear dents and scars on the print, but when I try printing it with 0.24mm layer height it doesn’t happen. Could someone help me out? Here is the model (Fire TV Remote - Battery Cover by SvenMakerWorld: Download Free 3D Models). It’s definitely not the filament, I’ve tried many different pla filaments, also Bambulab. But the issue persists.

I’ve seen something like that, not sure about the cause. Possibly related to the filament not being completely dry, interfering with layer adhesion?

  • Do you dry your filament?
  • Do you have an enclosure?
  • Can you reorient the print?
  • Try slowing it down drastically, say to 1/3. What happens?

The thicker 0.24 mm layer is less prone to overheating on overhangs. Lowering the print temperature by 5 or 10°C might help, and placing the part closer to the auxiliary fan on the print bed could further enhance results. Alternatively, you can adjust the print speed for overhangs or orient the part more vertically and use base supports.

A few suggestions :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for your suggestions I’ll try them out. I thought that the printer could easily handle this, it’s not a really a hard overhang. You don’t think it could be a printer issue?

could be not enough cooling causing warping of layers. try increasing or face it towards the aux fan

I just checked and the part cooling fan cools the left nozzle a lot more than the right. Even in the front without the aux fan it printed flawless with the left nozzle but with the right it was not good and caused the issues I posted

Interesting findings, I’ll have to see if this helps with some of the issues I’ve had with mine.
