Hey everyone,
I’ve run into a strange problem with my A1 that just started out of nowhere. Prints will randomly turn into spaghetti, but bed adhesion seems perfectly fine. It usually happens on the upper layers, and sometimes it looks like the nozzle just digs into the print and shreds it apart.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Build plates are spotless (washed daily with dish soap, then wiped with IPA, and I also use Magigoo).
- Happens on both a smooth PEI plate with Bambu Lab Matte PLA (orange), and a textured PEI plate with Elegoo Rapid PETG (black).
- I checked and cleaned the nozzle with an acupuncture needle — no clogs.
- I also ensured the nozzle was locked and positioned correctly.
- Re-ran all calibrations, including bed leveling.
- Cleaned and re-greased the lead screws with the original Bambu Lab grease (thought it might be a Z alignment issue).
- Both filaments were properly dried.
- No errors or warnings … HMS is green and the assistant says everything’s OK.
The printer was working perfectly until a couple of days ago, and now this keeps happening.
Any idea what could be causing it or what I should check next?

EDIT: Just tried to print a small rectangle box and the first layer is utterly terrible. I don’t understand, I just re-run a full bed calibration. The extruder is not slipping. I just sat there and watched it, but it looks like filament is not being extruded properly.

I am having the same issue. Wondering if anyone knows how to help/fix this?
I am experiencing the same issue when I have taller prints and took all of the same steps you did. I even slowed down the first layer thinking that may be an issue, added brims to the main print (not just the supports), with no success.
This has happened to my last three prints. I had recently replaced my hot end so I thought that might be it, but I did have some good prints after that first. This last time half the print was good before things spaghettified.
that happened to me a few times and i flipped the plate on the other side and everything worked out. i think its a plate thing.
Now happening to me as well. H2D, PETG-HF with PLA support interfaces (spaghetti starts well above last nozzle change), textured PEI, excellent adhesion, filaments dry, all maintenance freshly done, no apparent nozzle clogs, and no variable layer heights applied in slicer (as I recall).
PETG-HF from nozzle 1 is the filament that, late in the print, simply goes insane. Until then, other than 4 or 5 “phantom” AI spaghetti errors during the print (there were no noodles), 10 or 20 layers later….Manga!
Very annoying given how late in the print this is occurring.
Hi everybody. I had that problem once with one model I bought elsewhere and an empty layer spaghettied my print. I don’t think is your case but I have the need to note it.
I recognize this is a months-old thread, but I thought I’d chime in. I started having some under-extrusion issues yesterday, and running a flow calibration seems to be helping. I don’t see that mentioned in the post or replies; have you tried that?
To people replying later, I never found out the issue, but it stopped happening. I suspect it may be related to a combination of a particular filament, and bed screws needing tightening. Suggest also manually changing the Z offset in the print start g code.
And yes I did run a flow calibration prior to posting.
