Weird resonance and bearing weird noises

Hello everyone, for the past few days I have noticed a problem with a strange sound (rattle) from the bearings on the X-axis, especially during the printing of large cylindrical objects. The speeds used during ABS printing do not exceed 200mm/s with a normal printing acceleration of 10000 mm/s2. The printer is only a few months old. After thoroughly cleaning the rods and re-tensioning the belts, the problem did not disappear. I noticed an unnatural play in the carriage. So, I disassembled the printer to check for play in the bearings themselves. I am aware that there should be some play in the rods, but it seems to me that it is simply too much. So, I opened a ticket with support. They told me that it’s hard to judge based on the recordings, but the play seems normal and advised me to clean the rods thoroughly again and tension the belts according to their instructions. I did that, calibrated, and the first print after calibration (I should add that before tensioning the belts I made about 50 carriage movements to lubricate the rods) shows alerts: the belt from the Y-axis is probably not tight enough and there is a strange resonance on the X-axis.
After several attempts to tension the belt, the messages did not change, and the sound coming from the bearings, I feel, has intensified. I don’t know to what extent this affects my prints, but it shouldn’t be like this because they didn’t make such sounds before. I’ve attached all recordings and photos below. Have any of you encountered such problems? If so, were you able to solve them? Best regards!

ive got a kind of similar noise during printing, but its more a higher pitched rattling sound

I have not had this problem. But i do think that there is too much play between the carbon rod and the bearing.

You would have to change out the whole X carriage. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Some owners had ghosting because the bearing to hotend housing was lossening up. BL had them shim the slop out to get rid of the ghosting.

Whole X carriage assembly cost 99 euros with shipping… and i doubt that they offer me a new one :frowning:

If you cant get it to calibrate. They should provide you with parts that will help you calibrate your machine without alerts. Its only a few months old.
They will ask for more videos and logs. Ask you to go thru the same steps you have performed already. But it is their process of doing warranty work.

Yes correct, but I have found that if they ask me to do stuff I’ve already done, I simply tell them that I have done it and provide either photos or videos to show that I’ve done it, and they accept that.

My dealings with them have been very professional.

I’ve had four tickets, including a warped bed - not very badly warped but enough to cause some issues on large prints - I worked through the issue with them, sent in proof that I’d already done some of the things they’d asked, and had a new bed assembly in transit within a couple of days.

For some things they may need more information, but working through their processes is the best way of getting it resolved.
