I need to comment on post before I can make a post for whatever reason, so sorry
NO, you do not need to make any comments before starting a new topic.
New users need to spend at least 10 minutes reading 30 or more posts in 5 or more topics to increase their trust level to Basic. Once that has been accomplished the forum software assumes you are not a spamming bot and you can start new topics, post pictures, etc.
This post isnât relevant to the topic, but: I want to make a feature request but I canât find any way to add that to this feature request topic. Again, I apologize for posting here but thereâs no other place I can post and no way to contact anyone.
See above. Should unlock PMs as well (spam protection)
sorry for my nonsense reply but I seem not to be able to start a new topic and reddit users said I need to reply first before I can post, so thatâs what Iâm doing (complain to whoever came up with that rule)
I really wish reddit users were better informed⌠Posting wonât advance your trust level to be able to post. You need to read the forum.
- Visit at least 5 threads
- Read at least 10 posts
- Spend at least 15 minutes visiting the forum and reading other posts
yeah, I did this and got the basic badge and the message I can post, only that I couldnât, the âreply hackâ worked, now the new post function magically appeared
The âreply hackâ isnât a hack. It doesnât do anything other than occupy you while the system updates.
Sorry to Ask but I searched fĂźr the â+New Topicâ button for about 30min, can somebody tell me, where i can ask a new qestion?
To be able to post you need to advance your trust level from âNew Userâ to âBasic Userâ. To do this you need to complete the following.
- View at least 5 topics/threads
- Read at least 30 posts
- Spend a total of 10 minutes reading posts
Once you get the notification you have advanced to âBasic Userâ refresh your browser and you should see the "Post New Topic Button at the top right of the forum.
I am still not able to post a new topic on this forum. What must I do?
As you are new, and to try to reduce potential spam, forums usually have trust levels; you need to get to the Basic level to post a topic of your own.
The info and requirements are below.
Trust Level 1 â Basic
At Discourse (this is the forum tech), we believe reading is the most fundamental and healthy action in any community. If a new user is willing to spend a little time reading, they will quickly be promoted to the first trust level.
Get to trust level 1 byâŚ
- Entering at least 5 topics
- Reading at least 30 posts
- Spend a total of 10 minutes reading posts
Users at trust level 1 canâŚ
- Use all core Discourse functions; all new user restrictions are removed
- Send PMs
- Upload images and attachments if enabled
- Edit wiki posts
- Flag posts
- Mute other users
