Hi Guys, I’m new to the Bambu labs P1S, back to printing after a few years rest from my Anet A8.
I have the printer working great more or less out of the box and using Bambu Studio. Most videos I see recommend OrcaSlicer so I installed it and on setup I had to log out of bambu server and regenerate a new pin code for OrcaSlicer so I did that and its working fine. When I try to go back to bambu studio I have to go through the same process again with new pin code and setup again.
Is this normal that every time I want to change between slicers I have to redo the pin code every time or am I missing something. Is there no way to login to either at random without having to go through this rigmarole. sounds not much of a deal but my PC is upstairs and I have to run down 2 flights of stairs every time to get the new generated pin, back up again to enter it and then back down again to accept it on the printer screen. I’m 67 and not build for so much stair climbing. Thanks in Advance.
Don’t use the PIN code. Use your Bambulab username (email address) and password. Log out first if you are not prompted for this info.
I switch between Studio and Orca Slicer often, and also often have both active at the same time. I never need to re-login unless I’ve intentionally logged out.
Thanks for the prompt reply, do I need to use the same email/password for both, I have them different atmo so I know which is which.
Edit, Once I logged into OrcaSlicer with my Bambu Lab email and password everything worked fine. The problem was I was trying to keep the two separate.
Thank You, all sorted.
One quicky, when I sync which way will things go as I have some calibration settings in Orca that are not in Bambu? or will both sets be added to a new profile
OrcaSlicer user profiles will transfer to Studio and vice-versa. Orca has a few options that Studio does not recognize and those might be ignored. I’ve not checked all of them because I actually print with Orca. Studio is on my PC mainly for reference when answering forum questions.
An exception is Pressure Advance (K value) - if PA is enabled in an Orca filament profile, Studio will use that value in the gcode it produces and ignore the value set on the Device tab.
Thanks for the reply, I have noticed that K values have been transferred so won’t need to do them again in Studio, Just finishing my first print from Orca to compare the results, I might just use Orca all the time if the results are comparable. This whole business is a far cry from when I started with my old Anet A8 when they first came out though there is not much left of the original printer now. I’m absolutely blown away by the quality of the prints from the P1S strait out of the box, a quality I never managed to get from the A8 and hopefully I can improve even more. I hardly ever print anything other than usable parts for something broken other than the odd test print. Personally printing little animals and the like is a waste of time and plastic but everyone to their own.
Thank again.
