What am I missing with this layer test on Printables

If any of you have used the baked-in calibration tools in orca slicer, you’ll be familiar with the fact that the utilities actually have modified G-code which which would be a pain in the ass to do manually or just plane impossible such as the Maximum Flowrate tool.

Here’s an example of what I mean. You can see that with this maximum flowrate tool, that the layer speed changes at each level. This cannot be done in the slicer it has to happen inside the G-code and the calibration script does this for us. Same thing with a temp tower.

So what I was hoping is that someone would have created a sampler-generator showing how the different layer heights would look at different angles and geometries. I didn’t find anything yet so if someone knows of such a thing, please share.

What I did find was a lot of horse ■■■■ profiles claiming to produce layer height examples.

Here’s one that claims to be a visualizer and unfortunately, everything I found that calls itself a layer test is referring the “number of layers” not “layer Height

But that a bullshit claim. All it does is produce four different shapes with rougher polygons. Take a look at what I mean. When sliced, they all come out the same unless I were to manually change it using the “variable layer height tool” which is exactly what I am trying to automate, not do it manually.

All these examples are identical with the exception of polygon count which has nothing to do with layers.

So what might I be missing here?
