What are the best test prints?

What are the best test prints to run on H2D to confirm everything is working correctly?

i.e. if there are any problems, the test prints would reveal them.

Probably something with 5 filaments, one in second nozzle and the rest in AMS to confirm everything is running as it should.

Good ones to try may also be:

  1. Perfect first layer test, defined as a 1 layer height print that covers the entire build plate. This is a good test print for any printer, as some printers handle it easily and others seem to really struggle with it.
  2. Some long narrow models with sharp corners to confirm that warping can be averted via the built in heated chamber.
  3. PLA models with extensive PETG supports, as one guy reports problems getting that to work reliably with the stock profiles: Speculation about new printer announcements - #3688 by NeverDie

My view is that if there are any problems, you want to try print profiles that will fail when they encounter those problems. That way when you fix whatever the problems are, you’re in the clear and hopefully won’t encounter any further problems when printing models where the stakes are high.

definitely the first layer test. Mine is not able to do a good one. Neither with PLA nor with PETG. Those materials should be the bare minimum. That will also test the switch from one nozzle to the other.

Also a regular benchy (not the speed one) is always nice.

For expediency sake, I downloaded and printed this first layer print test on my H2D:

It turned out to be smaller than needed for a proper H2D first layer test, but setting that issue aside, I’m happy to report that it printed it perfectly! And on the first try, no less.
The print was far better than any first layer test I’ve ever printed on my X1C, or any other printer for that matter, so whatever Bambu did to achieve that on the H2D, Bambu really nailed it. I’m very pleased.

I’ll use fusion360 to generate a true, proper first layer test of the correct size for my H2D just to confirm it has no gotcha’s, but based on results so far, I fully expect there will be no issues. :sunglasses:

[Update: I tried it with 300x300mm using Sunlu HS-PLA, and it was largely flawless as well. So, I’ll be trying Sunlu HS-PETG next. I very briefly tried Creality Hyper PETG, but it quickly became evident that its carboard spool was not compatible with the AMS 2 Pro, so I’ll have to try that outside the cardboard spool (e.g. respool to a better spool)]
