What are theses in the Flow Blocker package?

I just changed a H2D flow blocker. What are these little square stickers for, should they be used when swapping it out?

They go on top of the magnets. I believe one per magnet set. Magnet-Sticker-Magnet

I am not sure, maybe so the magnets slide against each other with less friction.
