Under the Settings in Bambu Studio, there is this mode. I assume Develop is a typo for Developer. What does this mode allow? In other words, what functions or features will be missing if one chooses to not use the Developer mode?
Turn it on and off, and you’ll see that the process adds additional settings, including top surface and bottom layer flow rates, filament settings, and more.
The additional features change with each version of Studio, but typically all “Advanced” menus are activated (and cannot be turned off) and a few experimental options will appear for all printer, filament, and process presets.
The exact differences are not documented anywhere, AFAIK. Toggle the mode on/off while in the Prepare tab and you can see the process options change.
Thanks for the replies. I was thinking the Developer Mode enables the Post-Processing Scripts box, but that box is enabled even with the mode off. So I asked the question to see if there are some important features that I should be aware and using but haven’t.
You’re right — the developer mode in Bambu Studio isn’t fully documented, but the ability to see extra menus and experimental options can be really valuable for those who like to tweak and optimize their workflow.
