Now that Bambulab is closing it’s printers, i cannot controll my printers from a single screen anymore.
So what other good alternative brands/printers are there with AMS that are just as good as the X1/P1 series?

It all depends on what you need and what’s your budget. AFAIK X1/P1 aren’t the best printers, just that their performance/price ratio is favourable.
I really like the community around the SV08, is open source with lots of detailed mod guides (multiple tool heads), but it’s not as plug and play.
Think would make a great companion to P1S which won’t be getting the update yet anyway. If have to spend some time doing work on the SV08 to get it how you like, the P1S is there.
Just now? It’s always been closed.
BiQu went out on a limb and made the PT without BL and even stated at launch that it may end up not working due to firmware updates. They even listed working firmware on their website. Yet even after the blog post they STILL have it up for sale, knowing those that buy may end up with a useless item. They don’t even link the blog post, their FB post, or any warning other than the launch warning.
You can be irritated that your PT doesn’t work, but remember this was always known. Hell, I took mine off yesterday and now just parked in in a box and plan to forget about it. Not even mad.
My Panda Touch? I don’t have a Panda Touch, i am sorry if i communicated wrong and you concluded that i have a Panda Touch. Can you tell me where you thought i have Panda Touch?
What are you using to achieve this?
Home Assistant?
Sorry. I assumed when you said one screen. I often forget about HA.
My bad
Yeah, i have a page on my homeassistant where i can monitor and controll my printers. In one screen i have the camera feed of 5 printers and can controll the fans, the speed, temps, etc.
All from one, single screen.
The closest thing to an X1/P1 is the Anycubic Cobra 1.
In spite of johnfcooley ragging on the Panda Touch, it’s a very viable option if you take your printers off your wifi and put in a local WLAN with no internet access. Since he wants the updates, he chooses to not use his (Might want to see if someone will buy it instead)
And although he doesn’t like the fact they still have them for sale, they ARE warning people. The decision is left to the consumer, as it should be. So if you buy one with your eyes open, it isn’t BIQU’s fault. So tired of the nanny state attitude.
Criticizing them is funny in one way, as the PT is a decent option if you choose to not go with the new firmware and Bambu Studio updates.
The Creality K1 is a good option, however I would recommend the X1C over it.
My Panda Touch still works with my P1S, and will continue to do so, because I won’t update my firmware.
And if that means I won’t be able to use the cloud services, I’ll just stick to LAN only mode.
I’m not letting Bambu tell me what I’m allowed to do with my printer. And if future printers come with silly restrictions pre-installed, with no ability to “downgrade” to more functional firmware, I’ll buy from someone else.
People will be lining up to buy the next new Bambu. I will if it’s affordable, but I’m guessing it’ll be out of my price range.
@Quietman , nice tact🙄
I’ve been looking at the Prusa XL, but also curious to see what Bambu’s next printer will be like.
This ‘authorization’ stuff might make my decision, though.
Qidi 4 has been getting improvements. What will determine if it can be a full replacement is once their MMS is launched. But for single material printing, it seems to already be a possible option.
Can’t argue with that. But what may happen is people who have been telling friends and family to get a Bambu will start recommending something else. There are, in fact several posts about this already.
Word of mouth is still a very strong influence in the industry for beginners, as people who aren’t sure which printer to buy will ask someone they trust.
One person mentioned he’s been responsible for over $10,000 dollars of printer sales through recommendations to friends and family.
I know of several people I recommended Bambu to that bought one or more printers. I get asked what to buy on a regular basis. I was in Microcenter and they must have been trying to clear out the Ender 3’s as the store employee was pushing a young couple on that. They looked a little overwhelmed. I pulled them aside and had a bout a 15 minute discussion with them. After understanding their computer and technical knowledge, and what they wanted a printer for, I explained why the Bambu was a better option, and as beginners recommended they buy the Bambu filament to start and then branch out to other brands later if they wanted. They bought the Bambu.
These kind of interactions are going to have an effect on Bambu sales. How Much? Only time will tell.
I’m not abandoning Bambu, but I am waiting to see how things play out before allowing any upgrades. If that takes a year, I’m fine with that as I can do everything I want with the current firmware and the Panda Touch. If they do totally close down the ecosystem unless you pay a subscription like Makerbot does, then I will move on.
Ah, more conjecture…
You people really are something
im going to go design a “tinfoil hat” model, I bet they will be a hit. maybe a “sky is falling” sign to put on it too.
And this is the guy that criticized me for being tactless?
I did use tact cause I left off ‘special’ from the end.
Now hing as of right now compares to them.
