What hygrometer do you use?

I am thinking of buying a hygrometer. What hygrometer do you use and is it good.
I was thinking of getting this: (ThermoPro TP49 Digital Hygrometer Indoor Thermometer Humidity Meter Room Thermometer with Temperature and Humidity Monitor Mini Hygrometer Thermometer : Amazon.ca: Patio, Lawn & Garden) ThermoPro TP50 Digital Hygrometer Indoor Thermometer with Max/Min Records Room Thermometer and Humidity Monitor with Large LCD Display Humidity Meter for Baby : Amazon.ca: Patio, Lawn & Garden
or this: ThermoPro TP49 Digital Hygrometer Indoor Thermometer Humidity Meter Room Thermometer with Temperature and Humidity Monitor Mini Hygrometer Thermometer : Amazon.ca: Patio, Lawn & Garden
I just want to buy a hygrometer that actually works well.

Few, if any of the cheap ones are good. Maybe look for ā€œswiss sensorā€ on Amazon.

I couldn’t find anything when I searched ā€œswiss sensorā€ on Amazon.

I use a Zigbee temperature/humidity sensor that is mounted inside the AMS.

It looks like I’ll be drying my desiccant this weekend

@rmasonjr Thanks, do you find that it is reliable?

It’s much more reliable than the little round ones from Amazon. I have several of them scattered around my house. I live in the SE part of the US and it’s always humid.

I searched for it on Amazon and couldn’t find it can you share a link. Thanks again.

Me too, Central Florida and it’s always a battle. I would love to see the one you use too. I use Hubitat and it never even occurred to me to get Zigbee versions.

Could you share a link. Thanks

The version I have is this square one:
Amazon.com: SONOFF SNZB-02 ZigBee Indoor Temperature and Humidity Sensor for Checking The Room Climate, Indoor Thermometer Hygrometer with Alert, Works with Alexa Google Home, ZigBee 3.0 Bridge Required, 2-Pack : Patio, Lawn & Garden

They have since released a SNZB-02P which is rounded.

Zigbee is great - low power which means batteries last for quite a while. They even work in my refrigerators and freezers.

Thank you, I just ordered a couple.

I have different Zigbee versions bought on Aliexpress.

The left one Iā€˜m using in my house to measure room temperatures and humidity. The right ones are used in my dry boxes to monitor filament humidity. Both measure humidity below 10%H.

@PrinterMcgee Did you buy their entire stock??

LOL, no I got the newer round ones he mentioned…

Sonoff has a store on Aliexpress too where they are way cheaper, I didn’t want to wait though.

When they come can you let me know what you like (and don’t like) about them.

Absolutely. They should be on the doorstep when I get home from work today. I’ll put them in the AMS tonight and give them a day to settle in. I’ll report back on Monday what I think.

So after having them in the AMS for almost two days here’s what I think:

I put them both in the same AMS to see if they read the same… and I’m happy to say they do. Both of them are showing the same exact temp and humidity level. The humidity on both is showing 30%, but the $2 generic hygrometer I have in there is showing 20%. I think the 30% is probably correct.

I love how tiny they are. They fit perfectly in the front slots of the AMS where the desiccant holders go. I need to remix one of the holders I’m using that currently fit the generic hygrometer.

They claim 4 year battery life, which will be amazing if that’s accurate.

Really the only negative was one of the two was a pain to pair with the Hubitat. The first one paired perfectly as soon as I put the Hubitat in pairing mode and pulled the tab out that was separating the battery from the terminal. The second one I had to take the battery out and replace it several times before it went in to pairing mode.

I’m definitely happy with them. I’ll slowly start replacing all the cheap-o one’s I’m currently using.
