What in the world

LOL skyscraper by qul - MakerWorld

Had to share this, ran across it in the recently uploaded items. There is no point to it, but it did make me laugh. This is the kind of stuff we don’t need on the platform (or maybe we do, for a good laugh).

Don’t report and let’s see how long until makerworld notices it

I don’t even know how to feel about this. I think I’m equally amused and annoyed, but also somewhat disturbed.

I just realized this is ground breaking! This is the first moving Hueforge!

This can happen becasue:

  1. It will take time for someone to report it and MW some more time to act.
  2. The action most likely is a takedown of the post. No penalty points, no account ban.
  3. Even if the the account is banned, the user can easily create a new one.

There is a way to handle this and many other types of abuses, that is to grant the privilege of uploading, downloading, and printing only to accounts that meet one of the following two criteria.

A. The account was used to purchase a BL printer. Most of the users of MW have this. So no extra action is needed from these users to get the privilege

B. The account is bound to a mobile phone number. For those not having a BL printer, their accounts will be required to be bound with a mobile phone number. Each login will require entry of a passcode sent to that phone number.

If MW thinks the above is too strict and may prevent a wider audience from using the platform, they can modify the rule a bit, such as allowing all to download, upload, and print, but only accounts that meet one of the above two criteria can have their downloads and prints counted, rate, and only the eligible accounts can upload models and get reward points.

Nothing there.

Looks like it was vanquished to the shadow realm. It was a moving gif of a large man with a VERY large chin.

And they turned that into a moving Hueforge?
