What Is The Recomended Minimum Layer Height For Multi Colour Prints?

I have bought the 0.2mm hot end but as yet I haven’t done any multicolour prints with the AMS with low layer heights.
I have tried searching for this information, no luck!

Just select the .2mm nozzle profile in the slicer. The .2 works nicely but print times are of course much longer and not all filaments are printable.

Edit: I went down to 0.06 without issues using PLA.

Unlike Creality (the K2 Plus is not recommended to go below 0.20mm layer height for multi-color prints), Bambu Labs doesn’t as such have minimum recommended layer heights for multi-color prints - other than what relates to the filaments you use. Some filaments aren’t too happy to go below 0.12mm layer height in my experience - but those typically don’t play well with the AMS either (namely particle filled filaments).

I’ve done 0.10mm layer height with my P1S and AMS.

I have been using the 0.2mm for a few months now, its just I haven’t used it with the AMS.

I did see a video about the K2 having issues with multicolour printing with a 0.2mm nozzle and wondered if it might be the same with the X1C.
Thanks for letting me know, I was beginning to think this was the case when I could not find anything regarding it online.
I am about to start a long 3 colour print with quite a few layer height transitions and didn’t want to waste so much filament without knowing what I might be letting myself in for.
Thanks again!

In my experience, it does not make a difference for the AMS.

I made these, all two colours using the AMS.
