I know this is a dumb question, and I did multiple searches for an answer with no luck, so here it goes.
What is this called? It prints in the beginning of every print job, and I assume it has a name.
Thank you.

It is a purge line, it helps the printer know if there are any issues.
It is a very normal part of the printing process.
I will guess you have a P series printer as the equivalents for the other printers are different in appearance as they test using different patterns.
We all have collections of them.
Thank you! I know it’s part of the process, but it was bugging me that I didn’t know what it was called. Like I said, stupid question. Thanks!
You are welcome.
There are no stupid questions (and I am sticking to that for no personally beneficial reasons).
I saw this thread after searching for an answer to a very slightly different change when I print. The “L” shaped extrusion at the back of the build plate; is this also for the same reason? Since the studio update about a week ago this L is not printed anymore and the printer (x1carbon) just prints another “purge” line. Is anyone else getting this?
Can you share a photo of the build plate with the monies and with the model removed?
The x series prints very different patterns than the p series as it has additional technology to determine accuracy of print.
My X1C prints the same line. That one pictured in the front, and an “L” shaped purge on the back corner. (I turn off the extra calibrations)
Interesting to hear an update possibly changes them. Maybe I should consider updating.
Apparently it’s the Bambu studio update which changed things. It’s all still working fine so I’ll not pursue it further. Thanks
