What mod parts to print?

I just set up my carbon ams combo today and will try a first test print tomorrow. Once that is done what mod parts do people recommend i print. I saw a y shaped filament guide so that the side filament can blend into the machine with an AMS installed but dont know where to find that stl. Also open to other items. Seems spool rims are good idea for cardboard rolls.

By far, my most used tool is the “Scraper Grip” which is used with the razor and screws that come with the printer. I use it to help peel the filament off the plate and to clean up excess briming on the finished parts. Works like a charm.

More than 3/4’s of my Overture cardboard spools have worked fine without any additions. There have been a few that just won’t work. Those get swapped over to this reusable spool
I too use the scraper, although not as often since I got the textured plate. Parts tend to fall off after it cools and you bend it slightly.
If. like me, you don’t have room at the back for a spool holder, this one works very well. If you plan on using 250g spools, don’t bother with the fancy ball bearing types of holders. The filament will tend to unspool itself and that’s not good. I use the Full original arm-with-Filament-Guide version, it works with plastic and cardboard spools just fine.
I really dig this tool organizer. I needed it to fit on the right side and found that mirroring it in the slicer gave me what I need.
It’s really dark inside the printer, I printed this light bar for under the AMS. I used 12 volt leds and a 12 volt wall wart and with an inline switch to power it, others have hacked into the power supply. I can’t bring myself to do that.
If you have wall space behind the printer, consider Ikea’s Skadis pegboard system. There are tons of things to print for it. I have a ruler hanger, a caliper hanger, a cup for the storage bag vacuum pump, a cup for filament clips, a couple of hooks for the tool that let’s you line up the cool plate sticker when replacing it and on and on…
There are several versions of this parts box out there. Very handy for keeping all the bits in one place.
Get yourself a deburring tool. It’s very handy for cleaning the brim off parts and general sharp edge fixing. I have this one. It fits fine in the above tool holder.
If you plan on printing ASA or ABS, consider a BentoBox filter. Again, I run mine on a wall wart whose power cable runs out through the purge chute because I didn’t want to connect anything to the printers power supply.
I’ve gone through several spools of Overture matte light grey as it’s a close enough match to the printer for me.
I printed glass risers because Bambu says to take the glass off if you are using the heated bed with PLA. I’ve never used them. I have not had issues with heat creep which can clog a nozzle. I have had parts curl, that is most likely due to the aux fan blowing directly on them. Many people just turn the fan off.

Once you get a feel for how the printer works, head over to 3dsets.com. I’m putting the finishing touches on my Landy this weekend.

Wow Lasermike thanks for the great post. I just tried to print the Scraper that is found in the printers memory and the darn screw holes dont line up. I will need to sand off the back of the little clamp to get them to line up. Is this normal or did I print something incorrect as there are 2 scrapers in the memory but one looks like its meant for dual filament colors.

Also the AMS seems to surge as it feeds material over say my Ender 5plus which is just slowly always turning. This seems odd.

Other than this, the printer is crazy fast.

Marc

You are welcome.
Check the Bambu Lab YouTube channel on assembling the scraper. It didn’t go together the way I thought at first glance.

The AMS feeds on demand via the buffer on the back. As filament is extruded, it’s pulled from the buffer. When the buffer gets low, it asks for more from the AMS.

Also, real low angle of attack when using the scraper! It is very sharp and will cut into the build plate if you are too steep!
