Looking for what X1 models have ethernet
X1E
$2500 for an X1 with ethernet? A little pricey, what?
It’s aimed at enterprise solutions.
It also comes with four AMS systems, allowing you to print in 16 colors. So instead of buying an X1 Carbon combo (about $1500) and an extra three AMS systems (normally $350 per AMS) which, if there was no sale happening at the time of your purchase, would cost you roughly $2,550 and you would still have no ethernet. However, if you purchased an X1E Bambu Lab X1E 3D Printer you would save $50, and you would get the ability to use ethernet, and many other features.
Edit: Nevermind, I just checked again, and there is only one AMS included with the X1E - not four. Sorry for the confusion.
This is ridiculous, I bought my X1C expecting that since it was a printer I could connect it via an appropriate cable be it Ethernet or USB to my compute ( Ethernet preferred ) and now I find that I can only connect to it via 2.4Ghz wireless and I have to connect to some damned cloud service to be able to use it to it’s fullest extent! Who is the complete clown that decided that this is a good idea?
What if I don’t want my 3D prints on the internet?
What happens if the internet is down? It happens and sometimes for extended periods.
What if I don’t want to use 2.4Ghz wireless?
I like to use Ethernet because since its cabled it’s a lot harder to hack.
Having to shunt SD cards around how archaic .
The current setup seems to be an incredibly dumb move and I’m considering returning the printer I just purchased as not being fit for purpose.
Usually, when one intends to purchase something, especially when it’s quite costly, one is supposed to do proper due diligence prior to committing his/her money, like researching market, similar products, specifications, prices, shipping costs, delivery times, users’ feedback, etc. Buying such a pricey machine based solely on one’s expectations and wishful thinking, usually ends not that good for that person. Complaining afterwards that what has been bought doesn’t respond to one’s expectations or desires, without doing the due diligence first, doesn’t help nor solves any frustrations.
Just saying.
Its right next to the temperature controlled chamber of the x1c. Just kidding. Youll need to double the money for the x1e. They come with 1 ams unit, actual filtration and a temperature controlled chamber. I understand that the x1c is advertised as having filtration and controlled chamber temp, but it doesnt. It has a little box of carbon that fits loosely in a slot
If you decide to return it, look at the qidi plus4.
You can enable the LAN mode to avoid sending your prints on internet, Bambu Lab Wiki is your friend
But going on LAN only mode will also mean that some of its features won’t be available anymore…
wich features will you lost in LAN mode ?
When LAN Mode is enabled, the following features do not work:
- Cannot start prints remotely from outside the local network
- Bambu Handy app is not available when using LAN Mode.
- Print History feature is not available
Firmware updates must be downloaded to a computer and transferred via µSDcard.
How do you want to access to a device outside home without an internet connection ???
I also would’ve appreciated a wired connection on the X1C. Not a fan of wifi - slower, less secure, and maybe unhealthy too.
I was willing to overlook it obviously, but I’m not sure I’d buy another without a wired connection option.
