Using TP-Link Deco XE5300 here with my X1C, no problems. Both 2.4 and 5 GHz enabled. NOT using the IoT option.
Just buy the cheapest n300 router, or 802.11n router. Don’t bother buying anything faster or more expensive. P1S/P1P has ESP32 as wifi chip + main application chip.
X1C uses AMPAK Tech AP6212 wifi module, different software topology.
I think you helped me a lot here, but I changed two things at the same time which is not great for scientific method. Anyway I have a P1S and I was having the problem I was logged in on studio and there just wasn’t an option for my printer but it said it was already bound. I implemented your change by turning off my 5ghz and had disconnected my eero mesh system before because I suspected that could be the issue. Then I still wasn’t finding it so I just uninstalled and reinstalled the slicer (felt like an idiot for forgetting this is the “turn it off and back on” step). Anyway, with those changes I logged in and the printer was just there. You have helped me complete a multiple hour journey, thanks.

P1S here, using a Ubiquiti set-up:

No issues running at 2.4GHz range at 40Mhz width in the IOT VLAN part of my network.
