What’s the point of Followers for designers?

I don’t quite understand what followers do for designers right now. It’s a number that’s fun to look at and seeing individuals who follow is fine. if I reach out to random followers I feel that would be weird. I’m sure they will do something at some point like have a feed where you can see all of your followed designers newest model.

In Bambu Handy app you have a tab for the people you follow, and every time they upload new content, you get a notification

supposed to let those that follow keep tabs on what you’re releasing. Pretty much like social media.

Now if it works, dunno. Not much of a follower. Makes browsing less fun.

I use it if I see something I’d like to print, but my printer is already busy. I follow, so I can go to that persons models without going through a search should I happen to forget what it was I saw.

I’d like to see a 'save to favorite ’ option on prints.

The new “follow collections” has merit, it isn’t very well publicised though.

I use add my models to public collections and add a link to the respective collection in the description.

My Fidget Gyro & Spinner collection has around 20+ models in there, with a combined 20K+ downloads.

That collection has around 25 followers in there.

I get far more boosts per week than I have followers from that collection.

We need MakerWorld to add a “following” page to the web version of MW to see the latest models from our favorite creators. Right now, the only way to view this is in the mobile app.
