What the youtube reviewers don't tell you A2L

Prints well. But the hot end fan is egregiously loud. Like not even funny.

I assumed I had a defective one but looking around reddit. nope, its a different fan to A1. Its loud and has a high pitch whine behind it. A real shame because the printer is other wise way quieter than an A1.

If like me you work in the same space as your printer, best leave this one be would be my review.

To which bambu product are you referring?

Sorry put the wrong model in A2L

Is there a 3rd party fan you can replace the original one with?

My A2L does not have this issue - fan sounds like A1 and A1 mini.

“What the youtube reviewers don’t tell you” is anything that casts the product in a bad light and might jeopardize their access to future releases.

Perhaps you are lucky, insensitive to the sound or dare I say a bit deaf. I have them next to each other. The A2L is substantially louder. I can live with that but it has a high pitch whine.

Also when in standby the power supply has coil whine which the A1 does not. A real shame. I would love for it to be a dodgy fan that would be an easy fix. It does not sound broken though.

Well, then I must be deaf. I also cannot hear any coil whine. Another sign I’m deaf, obviously.

Sorry I was not trying to be personal. I am 51 years old and I am losing some hearing but this device most certainly not.

Perhaps this printer is faulty?

Can you record the sound and post the video so we can hear it?

No worries, I‘m 55, and I can‘t hear any weird noises on all my Bambulab printers. Seems I‘m a lucky guy.

Another guy (not you?) uploaded a video on Reddit reporting the same issue as you, and I‘m pretty sure his fan is broken.

That‘s mine:

My A2L has also the high pitched fan noise, much louder than my A1.

I reached out to Bambu. Clearly this has become an issue for them. They confirmed that yes the fan is much noisier than A1 by design and they are actively working on ways to reduce the noise profile in future software releases.

lol.

Just push their support more, say it’s unbearable and they will eventually send you a new fan.

I did that, the replacement fan I got is a different brand than the stock one, so I think they are perfectly aware of the issue.

The new fan reduced sound with 10dB at 1m distance. I also printed a honeycomb noise reducer from Makerworld for the A2L which helped even more.

Oh right thanks., do you have link for that file?

Sure, it’s this one:

Question, does anyone also hear an annoying high pitched “coil whine” from the printer when it’s idle? I’m wondering if everyone has this or it’s something faulty.

I have a high pitch from fan and also a irritating sound when idle. I have printed and tested different fan cover/mods. Still high pitch

Yes it has coil whine too. Whilst this is annoying, I am sat close to it so just switch it off when not in use.

All in all you can see where they cut massive corners on this printer.
