What type of filament? What nozzle? Making moulds

Hello

I’m an instrument maker and I’m needing advice, new to 3D printer. I have the bambu lab carbon x1, very good! I have noticed though that some detail is lost on the surface on some of the things I have printed. At the moment I’m printing bowls with intricate detail on the outside, or writing.

I have heard resin printers are better for this, but well… I’ve got the Bambu so here I am.

What filament would you recommend? Is a 0.2 nozzle better?

Do I export my files a little differently? I was thinking of maybe making the patterns stand out more by making the emboss a bit deeper. I’m not sure if that would make a difference.

Basically I’m then going to use the 3D objects as moulds, to make ceramics from, so the detail is important. Have I made a bambu mistake?

Any advice greatly appreciated

Yeah I would heavily recommend the .20 nozzle if it’s not detailed enough only downside is the increased print time

You probably want to export in .Step files

hm. I think i can only get stl, which programs export in step?

I print lots of small items with text and pretty much only use the .2 nozzle. The detail is pretty amazing for FDM.
