When can an exclusive model be deleted?

I saw somewhere that the exclusive status of a model can be removed after 90 days. Can someone tell me whether the model can be deleted from the site during that time?

My advice: Set it to private and wait.

If you try any tricks, you will almost certainly receive negative points. If it’s a 3D model that performs well, it can be quite painful when you have points deducted retroactively.

Firstly, you must have a reason for wanting to delete it, which unfortunately you haven’t stated. Presumably it’s for a good reason, so let me put it this way: don’t try any tricks because if they find out, your points will go into the negative.

I don’t want to try any tricks. I play fair. If I wanted to cheat, I wouldn’t have created this forum thread.

My reason is simple: I have about 5–7 models that are uploaded as exclusive, but they only have 2–5 downloads each. It makes no sense to keep them here exclusively, because they might do better elsewhere. That’s why I’m interested in how this can be done legally. I don’t like cheating.

That might be incorrect. That is if you select that program.

You’re right. I didn’t pay attention to what OP chose? If he has chosen the other option, then the 90-day limit may indeed apply.

I have now rewritten the comment from scratch, thanks also to the note from TheBreadman :+1:

Can you simply leave the Exclusive Program? Short answer: No. Long answer:

Exclusive Models must be made available on an exclusive basis on MakerWorld for a period of no less than 90 days (“Lock-in Period”). During this Lock-in Period, Creators are not permitted to exit the Exclusive Model Program.

What happens if someone doesn’t comply?

If any of the following conditions occur, all Exclusive Points obtained by a Creator on MakerWorld for the corresponding Exclusive Model will be revoked, and the relevant Exclusive Model will automatically be removed from the Exclusive Model Program:

Non-Exclusive. If an Exclusive Model is found to be directly or indirectly published on other platforms or websites during the period of participation in this Program, the Model will be considered “Non-Exclusive.”

Now, to return to this statement:

This is not allowed. If MakerWorld finds out, your points will be deducted. Furthermore, it could affect your status in the Exclusive Programme. You should think carefully about joining the Exclusive Programme beforehand and read the rules. Even if you delete it now, that doesn’t cancel the contract.

Thank you for the quick replies! My guess was right. Those few models aren’t worth enough to be punished. Everything stays the same.

I’ve had that experience too. As I said, my advice remains: set them to private. Forget about them for a certain number of days and then re-upload them somewhere else. :+1:

Setting it to private has the advantage that it does not water down your profile or the search engine.

Let’s say once the 90 days are up, I exit the program then delete the model will the points I earned from the model during the exclusive period still retain?
