When was the P1S sold with a hardened nozzle from the factory? Is there a date?
Never. It is sold with a Stainless nozzle.
In Germany, the P1S are equipped with it.
Mine wasn’t. How do you know?
They talk about it in the German forum. That’s why I thought that they are already being sold here.
As far as I know they have never been sold with a hardened steel nozzle. You can check the colour of the heatsink of the hotend. If it’s black you have a hardened steel noozle, if its grey it should be a stainless one.
I “read somewhere” (probably means reddit) that Bambu is phasing out stainless (except for 0.2, I presume) but who knows if that was valid information or just someone’s random fantasy.
Mine wasn’t.
The nozzle might have been an upgrade from a reseller?
EDIT I got my P1 from Bambu and the X1 from a reseller, and the reseller added in extra filament. This wasn’t Germany. The reseller also provides the warranty on the X1.
None of the three units I received in Germany had a hardened nozzle nor a set of hardened extruder gears.
When did you buy the last one?
Of course, it may also be that the normal nozzle was not in stock and they have a hardness installed. In the EU shop, there is only the hardness in the accessories. Only the 0.2 as stainless steel.
I received my newest one end of November.
Keep in mind that warehouse availability is not the same for their factory. You are also not able to by the non hardened stainless steel extruder gears in the store.
Do you have one, or planning to get one? The replacement/upgrade part is only a few buck and will need replacement either way. If you have the hardened one (Black heatsink) installed, even better, if not, keep using the stainless one except you are running abrasive filaments.
This ^^
you could quite happily use the stainless nozzle for many hours, even with abrasive filaments before it needs replacing anyway. It will just wear out quicker.
