Problem: If you open a 3mf you just downloaded off makerworld, delete the model and reset the profiles back to your own, open any model you want in stl, step, or whatever plain model format you like (even right click and add generic shape), & press print Bambu studio or handy will ask you to rate the original 3mf profile you opened. This means that 30 minute cube you just printed counted as a print on that 3 day 3mf print you opened first. Not only that, but if you enter a rating, now you’ve just entered a false rating on that 3 day print 3mf on makerworld when all you did was print a 30 min cube. The same thing happens if you open a 3mf, add a new plate, open a different model, and print it. I’ll give an example of the second scenario below
The only way to ensure this doesn’t happen is if the user clicks file>new project or opens a new 3mf they just downloaded from makerworld but only if the plate is empty in studio.
My photo for reference. I had previously opened a 3mf of LOUP the wolf I downloaded from makerworld. A full fledged multicolor print. Before I printed LOUP, I decided I wanted to do a first layer test. I added a plate, added a generic cube, sized it for a first layer test, switched to my own 0.24mm print profile and hit print. 40 minutes later when it was done Bambu handy and studio both asked me to rate the LOUP 3mf.
Kind of makes you wonder, how many ratings and print counts out there on makerworld are false? With how many times I’ve ran into this I’m willing to bet a lot! Especially knowing that ratings used to be incentivized heavily.
As soon as any single thing is changed in studio after opening a 3mf, the user should not be able to rate it because it is no longer the uploaders profile
