Does anyone know where in the system the files created for user filament and process profiles are stored?
I wish to back them up in anticipation of an “OOPS, I just screwed that up big time…”

Have a look here:
Thank you. That worked fine.
Did you shutdown studio and restart after install? This is a well-known problem and even documented by Bambu too. There are several posts on here about it.
%appdata%\BambuStudio\usr
I deleted my files in the folder with the long number.
After restarting bambu studio, the files come back.
I looked into the folder, eh voila they are back.
Bambu studio must store it elsewhere where it load from.
Any hints how to delete unwanted profiles?
If you have presets stored in the Bambu cloud, and Auto-sync is enabled in Preferences, they will be re-loaded when you start Studio.
Delete individual presets by opening them for editing, click the “X” next to the Save icon.

Does anybody know where the files are on Linux?
If I click on Help->Show Configuration Folder and then open the “User” directory I only see “defualt” but no numbered folder. Does it work differently on Linux?
