Where's the best place to request features/products from BL? (H2D effect plates)

Pretty simple question; does anyone know how best to contact BambuLab to request they release a certain product?

I often print with an effect plate on my H2D, but… BambuLab doesn’t sell H2D effect plates, so I literally just use a model I made to line an X1C up in the center instead, and mess around with the settings to get the machine to print on it anyway.

I can’t imagine it’d be difficult for them to create effect plates for the H2D, at least not compared to making something like an entirely new printer.

Accordingly, I’d like to lobby them to make one. Any idea where to go and who to talk to?

Thanks in advance!

As far as I am aware, they only have a new product request form for MakerSupply.

Everything else is creating their famously well handled and not totally hit or (most often) miss support tickets.

Use the link appropriate to your country, the one below may be just the U.K.

Hi there,

I think the team is already working on making them available. But I will share your post with them.

For future requests, a ticket can also be a good way to let us know about products you might want to see in the store.

Thanks.

Thanks for the update.

Could you confirm the situation with regard to the h2c?

Do you know if/when an h2c smooth pei plate will be available?

Check out aliexpress. That is where I buy my build plates from. Lots to choose from for H2D and even H2C

I’ve received an update from the team.

The Smooth PEI Plate will be gradually phased out and replaced by the new Engineering Plate, which offers improved durability and a longer lifespan. As a result, the H2C will not include a Smooth PEI Plate.

Regarding the 3D effect plates, the team has confirmed they are currently working on making them available. However, there is no confirmed launch date yet.

Thanks for the response.

Trouble with the engineering plate is that is requires glue for all filaments, and I would be concerned with the surface finish (I’m looking to use it for lightboxes and want to try the flatforge plugin for hueforge).

I’ll probably look for a third party alternative which doesn’t require glue for pla.

The Smooth PEI Plate is also recommended to be used with glue stick or liquid glue, to avoid any damage for the plate. This will ensure a long lifetime for it.

Perhaps, but it does say glue not required for pla/pla-cf/pla-gf on the Bambu Lab store website and I’ve never had any issues using pla on the smooth pei plate without glue on my p1s’s for the use cases I mention.

Thanks! I’ll try that out.

Thank you! I’ve actually had a pretty good track record for submitting support tickets for actual product support, but we’ll see if it works for product requests…

Many have said the same thing until they receive the “standard customer service”, you are lucky until you are not and then you come back near to rant like we all have.

I hope your luck holds for this one.

:crossed_fingers:

This is mere speculation, but part of me wonders if it’s because I’m a “bigger customer” in the sense that I have both an X1C and an H2D, and have some moderate success on Maker World as a creator

I have 5 Bambu Lab printers, I was in the top 100 designers and top 1% of earners in last years ‘year in review’ report (those two could have been the other way around).

It isn’t how much revenue you earn for them, direct, or indirectly, how much you promote them, help them, it is how they are.

So the engineering plate is gonna be the overall plate, including pla?

Sorry to necro this thread, I’ve got two smooth plates for my H2D and they are amazing, I’ve never used glue on them ever and the adhesion is great!

Will the engineering plate still work like this without glue, even though it’s recommended?

Same Question, will the engineering plate still work without glue? Otherwise this is really REALLY BIG STEP BACKWARDS. I didn’t bought this expensive printer to use old school ugly glue??? I mean if glue is needed it is of course no replacement at all!!!
