Which color prints first

I am printing two similar parts black with white gauge lines. The first part printed the white lines first then printed the rest of the part black. The second part printed black first leaving space for the white lines then coming back and printing the rest of the part black. The quality is better when it prints the white lines first. The setup for both parts is the same unless I have missed something. Does anyone know how to pick which color prints first?

Bugger knows. Seems to be completely random in the slicer to me, but I do know that I’ve just had a 50% scrap rate from printing black-then-white, when white-then-black comes out perfect.

I’ve seen “workarounds” talking about changing which spool is in which slot of the AMS (makes no difference), and “dragging” the different coloured parts to a different position in the objects list (which is impossible). So goodness knows how this is SUPPOSED to work.

But it’s really bugging me; I cannot afford a 50% failure rate :frowning:

I’m not even getting 50% I printed a group of 7 on 2 we’re good. The crazy thing about it is the model that is printing wrong was modified from the one that is printing correctly.

Similar here - I have had identical models printing with the desired colour first; I make a small change and BAM - wrong colour prints first :frowning:

I could really do with knowing how to guarantee that my chosen colour will always print first.
