I only have one H2C for more than 4 color prints, and I want to avoid waiting forever for that one part that failed and is out of stock. Do you guys have any recommendations?
According to Murphy’s Law, the part you don’t have is always the one that breaks — so get an extra H2C.

Actually, it’s quite difficult to know when each part will fail. But if I were you, I’d want to stock up on all the parts I could get. A good starting point would be the left and right nozzle sets.

Imo you should always have at least 1 extra nozzle, which in the h2 means 2 extra nozzles… 2 extra socks, one extra heater core, one extra build plate, and one extruder assembly. On the h2 the extruder bit might be too much to keep in reserve, but in general on cheaper machines it has regularly saved my bacon as a test piece for helping diagnose issues quickly. Belts too if you’re feeling spicy but in general gt2 belts can last damn near forever if you don’t abuse the machine

Apart from a failed hot-end heater (warranty), only parts on my H2D that have failed have been the silicone socks, been though a few of those. Ended up buying some green, after market ones that seem stronger.

What you are saying is not very useful, because you can virtually get the entire printer as separate parts.
Then the advice of @Sebo3D1 is better and you have a secondary printer always at hand. And cheaper also
The OP is only mentioning the forever waiting as a critical issue, so I would choose the components that are often out of stock and are highly likely the ones that can fall.
The most likely parts in my opinion are:
- Filament guide
- Extruder gear
- Extruder idlers
- Nozzles
- Heater left/right)
- Silicone socks
- Nozzle wipers
- Nozzle wiper assy
- Nozzle blockers
- Tool head fans
- Aux fan
- Exhaust fan
- Filament buffer
From this list I would filter the hard to get parts (regularly out of stock)
Of the list above, the ones that I myself do NOT have currently in stock (but still considering) are the following:
- Extruder idlers
- Heater left/right)
- Tool head fans
- Aux fan
- Exhaust fan
- Filament buffer
All other components is just bad luck when they fail, but the ones mentioned are the most likely ones to fail.
You can still consider the following components:
- Belts
- Extruder motor
- Stepper motors
It’s also a bit of math you have to do.
What does it cost me every day the printer is out of order? For hobby not much of an issue, for business it’s a different story.

Thank you everyone for your advice. I better start getting some of these parts ASAP just in case.
Good list. I would add filament cutters, PTFE tubing and a set of replacement screws. You never know when you will drop one of those buggers. More X’s mark what I think you need to have on hand.
I’m not sure of the lifetime of these fans though I had filament take the blades of the toolhead on a X1C I once owned.
The cost of the parts probably outweigh the frustration of waiting for parts.
I also have a filament buffer, TH board, connection board, MC board, X-Y stepper motor.
I may not buy any more spares like fans etc as I have two printers, and I’m not a production facility.
