Best is Bambu Lab Matte of corse but for generic i go with:
Extrudr
Eryone
Jayo
Geetech (Dont use their PETG i used red and my poop chute got red colored after 1 kg)
R3D
SUNLU
my x1 eats all without any issues. Only JAYO PETG i will never ever use again pla is ok but no petg.
too soft TPU is also a big problem for my x1. till 90A all fine.
I just printed YOUSU PLA-CF and PETG-CF on Bambu, which has very good toughness and layer adhesion. I tried on Ankermaker and Ender 3 fast printer. The outlooks are almost the same, but it is more brittle. I thought a closed box worked well. Bambu is good. I tried to update so picture but it was limited. LOL
problem is that when they fill up stock with new deliveries, users tend to buy a lot more than then need and stock is empty pretty fast. I wouls try other brands as well. There are a number of brands that work well with bambu’s printers
Profile already set up for it, eSun also have a profile and process available.
Ran a good dozen of them through in last year ans all have printed really nicely with no problems on boot cool and PEI.
there are rumours that they are. One of Bambu Labs suppliers for their PLA but i don’t know what the voracity of that is.
Usually a good offer on Amazon too, if not, I wait it out, Usually £16.
Hi All,
I need some advice. I run a maker space in an elementary school. We have 2 X1C’s and 1 PS1. Up until now, we’ve purchased Bambu Lab filament. I hate dealing with their shipping policies. They only take credit card purchases in the US. Most schools will only use purchase orders. Now I am stuck between a rock and a hard place because I need to order filament and my school no longer wants to place orders on credit cards. So I’m looking into other filament options that I can order from Amazon or other vendors that can take POs. #1 - What brand of PLA can I easily convert to the AMS? I don’t want to take something off a reel and put it on another reel, I’d rather print up an AMS converter to put around a cardboard reel, or use another brand that fits easily into the AMS. #2 - Could you tell me some settings for a brand that you recommend?
Thank you.
Hi,
Basically, you can use any filament in your AMS that does not exceed the dimensions. Cardboard spools are also unsuitable, but possible. I personally am very happy with the standard profile from BambuLab and have never had to change any settings to get better quality except where I got the printer new (X1C) but normally you don’t need to change anything. I am happy with both the black and white filament from Geetech and would simply recommend you look at the advice above and get a filament from the brands mentioned above. You will be satisfied. Name the color or colors you want and I could give you a link if you want a specific example.
Nice to hear! You mentioned that you have bambu printers in an elementary school. How cool is that! What‘s the idea behind it? Do the students print? How does it work?
We have a maker space in our school. Students sign up to participate in activities during their recess time. My 4th-grade students are learning TinkerCAD this year and designing personalized pencil cups for their desks. Then we send them to the printers. Some students become really good at designing and will be ready for much more in-depth design tools once they get to middle and high school.
I just received my Bambu X1C. I have a lot of Matterhackers PLA Pro. However, the reels are just a little too wide for the AMS. How did you run the Build and Quantum rolls?
Quantum rolls I don’t recall if I have run through the AMS or not - I tend to run 1 off filament like that from a Sunlu filament dryer as an external spool.
The Matterhacker Build PLA spools run fine from the AMS for me - no issues or modifications have been required. I took a quick measurement of a Matterhackers Build roll in a vacuum storage bag, so subtract .25mm for total bag thickness, and I took some pics of a roll I currently had loaded an the AMS.
I thought when I bought Bambu PETG that it would be no problem to use the Bambu profile. Nope, bad prints. There was a PETG article on makersphere.com with profiles tweaks that solved all the issues.
eSUN has X1C specific profiles you can download from their website and they work great.
I have the XC1 just a couple off days, and beining printing a lot of stuff out off the box. with Bambu PLA-Mate & PETG-Basic the PETG is working great. Bambu studio and default profile. I use to own a Ender 5 Pro and PETG printing on that printer always was a struggle. after a print needed to check the complete printer! The XC1 is printing almost non stop! for 4 days. mixing PLA and PETG. the only thing i do is cleaning the PLATE after 2/3 prints. with water and soap.
