The last three on your list are pretty much on mine as well. However, I would also add Loyal Moses, Clough42, and Len Dizzle. Moses, because he has a real hatred for Bambu and will definitely find their weaknesses. He balances out the Pollyannas like Teaching Tech, whose tutorial videos I consider best in class, but whose product reviews feel completely watered down. He reminds me of a politician in how he presents manufacturers—he makes it seem like he’s being open and critical, but in reality, he pulls his punches.
The one I would disqualify as just parroting manufacturer marketing is Aurora Tech. Her videos are not only unpolished, but they also lack rigor and critical thinking. I have her blocked for that reason—there’s already enough noise on YouTube.
The other guy that has gone onto my Bought-And-Paid-For-Shill list is CNC kitchen. The guy is all about sponsorships and although I love his tech videos, when it comes to his reviews, they are worthless by most accounts. Thomas Sanladerer of MadeWithLayers better be careful because it’s clear he is trying to follow in CNC’s foot steps.
If you need your tech reviews to be pretty and flashy then that’s fine. But to imply that her reviews lack rigor and critical thinking is just about the most absurd thing I’ve read all week. She’s extremely systematic with her reviews. She puts every printer through the same tests and compares the results to other printers she reviewed. She also starts each video with an introduction that lists just about ALL key features of the machine as well as what to expect when unboxing. She is the definition of rigorous.
I dont need flash, but i prefer rigor such as from CNCkitchen, German rigor! LOL
Hers reviews are like a high school science project, I mean great for her but its just not my style. I dont want specs read to me, I want technical testing.
At the end of the day its nice we have lots of reviewers with different styles, its good we have choice in this day of youtube.
