Depends on what you want to record on that key. I record the whole print videos on my H2D now H2C and at 1080p, 40min of video is 1GB (in 250MB chunks) so if say your print is 20hr long, it will fill 30GB on your key. When the key is full it will automatically delete the oldest files to make room for the new ones.
It’s better than timelapse because not only do you get the whole print but it also records as soon as you send your print so you get everything, homing, purging, bed leveling, everything before the actual print start and same at the end.
It’s great for troubleshooting if anything occurs or you want to verify any changes in print sequence for new firmware for example although it’s a pain scrubbing all those files but a great troubleshooting or debugging tool, that why I use a 512GB key just to keep enough history on the key.
I tried using an old Sandisk 32 GB thumb drive and the H2C would format it, but a Win 11 machine reported a problem with it. Linux didn’t complain but the files on the drive weren’t readable. I threw it away and bought a couple of these 32 GB drives. They work fine, but the rectangular part that slides into the socket is made of thin plastic, so you have to be careful not to damage it when extracting the drives from the high security packaging them come in.
Fits nice and neat. Capacity is mor ethen enough. I do like to create timelapses, but just so I have something to investigate should a print ever go wrong.
