Why 2.0.1.50 is changed and why my printer is not printing any longer?

bug-report

Upgraded to Bambu Studio 2.0.1.50. Why there are so many things in the UI that changed so it’s harder than it needs to be to transition? Like who ever designed the “Send print job” to use external spool. Tricky to figure out, right?

Once the model is sent to printer - it can’t parse it. Have the X1C (I know call me a dinosaur) - I’m not sure is that printer still supported? I feel like there is no laser attachment, so it’s probably garbage at this point…

Any pointers appreciated.

downgrade BS to the last version that worked for you, and (friendly advice) don’t upgrade it anymore. you’re not the only one complaining of such issues after updating software/firmware.

Ok, thanks for the honest response @drakko. In a long run - how would I get security-related updates (both for Studio and the printer) if I’m on older version? Are you suggesting to wait for a month or so then upgrade or stay indefinitely on older versions? Thanks!

I won’t rehash the whole January 16th "security firmware patch " scandal and community backlash, as with a bit of time and search through the forum, you’ll find the info and form your own opinion. However, following that scandal, I’ve decided to no longer update neither the firmware nor the software for as long as my printers work and deliver what I’m asking of them.
As for security issues (thou i kinda find them over-rated when it comes to 3d printers), setting up a dedicated LAN for your 3d printer, completly segregated from the internet is not that difficult and would solve the security problems you might think of and still want to keep control over your printer. I’ve
switched to segregated LAN completely and don’t
accept anymore updates from Bambu… many other users did that as well.
The decision to go one way or another is entirely up to youbut before deciding which way you’re gonna take, inform yourself thoroughly.

I know exactly what you mean - the Jan 16th was an “aha” moment for many and hopefully learning for Bambu.

I did run my Flashforge via USB stick only, which for X1C is not that convenient. I planned to do the LAN only, but since X1C does not have a wired LAN (I almost cancelled my order when I found out), this option needs a separate wifi network to set-up for me. My network limits what manufacturers can connect on the network and see other devices. Bambu is not on that list…

But thanks - great suggestion - I will look into dedicated network. I will then set network rules that BS can only communicate on the wifi adapter connected to X1C and we should be golden (theoretically  ).
